Hosting Services

When you host at Inveress, you get a fully managed service. That means that you don't need to worry about the server your web site is hosted on -- all the technical stuff is taken care of for you.

While Inveress can always tailor a solution to your needs, there are several types of hosting that we offer as standard packages:

Domain parking

Decided on a domain name but aren't ready to do anything with it yet? Domain parking allows you to register a domain name to ensure its availability for future projects, but does not provide any usable services for the domain. The cost of registering domains is generally $20/year for .com/.net/.org/.biz domains, or $30/year for .com.au/.net.au/.org.au domains.

E-mail hosting

Just want to have your own, personalised e-mail addresses? E-mail hosting allows you to register your domain name, create mail accounts and use standard POP3 e-mail clients such as Outlook and Thunderbird to send and receive e-mail. You also get access to your accounts via webmail. Use the server-based IMAP protocol and leave all your mail on the server, accessible from anywhere you can get an internet connection! All e-mail accounts include spam filtering and virus checking.

E-mail hosting is available for as little as $5/month, plus the cost of your domain registration ($20-$30 per year). E-mail services can be self-managed via an easy-to-use e-mail control panel.

Blog hosting

A blog is a great way to broadcast your opinions, communicate with colleagues or stay in touch with friends and family. Inveress uses the WordPress blogging platform as standard. Log into the user-friendly administration panel, customise the look and layout of your blog, and add functionality to your blog using plug-ins and widgets. Blog hosting also includes e-mail accounts and webmail access, as described above.

Blog hosting starts at just $8/month, plus the cost of your domain registration ($20-$30 per year). Additional customisation (outside of what the administration panel allows) is available for an additional cost. E-mail services can be self-managed via an easy-to-use e-mail control panel, or Inveress can do it for you, in most cases at no additional charge.

Site hosting

Site Hosting gets you complete web site hosting, including e-mail (as described above) and FTP access to your account. You're free to develop your own site and upload it to the server, or contract the development of your site out to Inveress. Standard features include subdomains, PHP/Perl/Python/Ruby scripting, MySQL databases, password protected directories, e-mail accounts, aliases and autoresponders and visitor statistics. In addition, Inveress can help you install any applications you need.

Site hosting starts at $10/month, plus the cost of your domain registration ($20-$30 per year). Site hosting gives you access to a web site control panel that allows self-management of many aspects of your site, but again, Inveress can do this for you, usually at no additional charge.

General hosting information

All hosting accounts have a 2GB storage quota and a 30GB monthly traffic quota, which will be sufficient for almost all sites; regular exceedance of these quotas may incur additional costs, but this can be negotiated. Hosting fees are billed in advance, annually or bi-annually, except for domain registrations which are always billed annually. There are no set-up fees for any type of hosting. All prices are in Australian dollars. All hosting accounts are backed up weekly. Server availability is generally at least 99.9% (ie, less than 9 hours of downtime per year due to maintenance and other issues).
